How do I set it up? During onboarding, grant Screen Time and Location (Always), drop a pin on your gym, and pick the apps to block. That's it.
Why does it need "Always" location? So the geofence can lock your apps when you arrive at the gym even while Gym Narc is in the background. Your location is processed on-device and never sent anywhere.
My apps didn't lock when I arrived. iOS geofences can take a moment and need Location set to "Always" plus Precise Location on. Make sure your gym pin is accurate and you're inside its radius.
How do I end a session? Open Gym Narc and tap "END SESSION." In friction mode you can also bypass from inside the app; in hardcore mode the shield lifts when you leave the gym.
The shield is stuck. Open Gym Narc and tap "END SESSION," or step outside the gym radius. You can also delete the app to clear everything.
How do I change my gym or blocked apps? Open Gym Narc and edit your gyms or block list in the app.
Is my data safe? Gym Narc has no servers and collects nothing. See our Privacy Policy.
